The disruptions sparked a surge in outage reports on DownDetector.com. Desperate for updates, users turned to Elon Musk’s micro-blogging platform, X, to discuss the situation. “Facebook is down, so I guess I’ll come hang out with my Twitter peeps. How are we doing on this Tuesday, friends!?” shared one user on X.

Challenges persisted as users attempted to reset passwords and utilize two-factor authentication for logging back in across all Meta-owned apps.

Today marks the most significant outage of 2024 thus far, impacting major social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp worldwide.
