Which Players Have Been Included in the Junior Springbok Squad for the U20 Rugby Championship?

The Junior Springboks have added nine Western Province players to their 31-man squad for the inaugural U20 Rugby Championship in Australia next month.

  • Prop: Zachary Porthen
  • Hooker: CJ Erasmus
  • Lock: Adam de Waal
  • Loose-Forward: Divan Fuller
  • Scrumhalf: Asad Moos
  • Centres: Bruce Sherwood, Joshua Boulle
  • Outside Backs: JC Mars, Joel Leotlela

The squad includes five players from last year’s U20 World Rugby Championship squad: Porthen, lock JF van Heerden, Moos, and centres Jurenzo Julius and Litelihle Bester.

Coach Optimistic

“The three matches will be a good test of our group’s character and skill set,” said head coach Bafana Nhleko. “The players have responded well during the camps, it is now about executing and learning in a Test-match pressure environment.”
