The streaming of these games has raised eyebrows and concerns because it bypasses the need for physical game copies. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, many international companies, such as Nintendo, as well as payment services like Visa and Mastercard, have ceased or limited their operations in the country. This decision has halted the shipping of physical Nintendo Switch games and placed the Nintendo eShop in Russia under maintenance, cutting off access to legal purchases.

According to Pirat_Nation, VK Play’s cloud gaming server is linked to a farm that runs Nintendo games through Yuzu.
