How to Get Vespiquen in Pokemon GO and Can it be Shiny?

Trainers hoping to complete their Pokedexes may wonder how to obtain Vespiquen in Niantic’s mobile game. Acquiring Vespiquen in Pokemon GO is relatively simple, and the shiny variant is also obtainable but requires patience and effort.

Getting Vespiquen in Pokemon GO

Except through trading, the only way to get Vespiquen is by evolving a female Combee. This process requires 50 Combee candies, and the Combee must be female, as Vespiquen is based on a queen bee, while male Combee cannot evolve. Fortunately, Combee is a fairly common Pokemon.

Where to Find Combee

* Wild Encounters: Combee commonly spawns in grassy and rural areas where Bug-type species gather. Using Incense or Lure Modules can increase spawn rates.
* Egg Hatches: Combee was previously available as a 7-km egg hatch during events like GO Fest, but it may return in future events.
* Research Task Rewards: Combee often appears as a reward for completing Research Tasks, particularly during Bug-type events like Bug Out.
* Snapshot Photobomb Encounters: During the 2022 Bug Out event, Combee could appear when players took snapshots of Pokemon, spawning nearby afterward. This may recur in future events.

Once you have a female Combee, catch more Combee or set it as your buddy to accrue candies. Once you have 50 candies, evolve your Combee from its data screen.

Getting Shiny Vespiquen in Pokemon GO

Shiny Vespiquen can only be obtained through trading or evolution. For evolution, you’ll need a shiny female Combee, which can be challenging, as most Combee spawns are male, and the base shiny appearance rate is approximately 1 in 512. However, events like Bug Out tend to increase shiny Combee appearances.

After obtaining a shiny female Combee, collect 50 candies and evolve it. Alternatively, you can trade for a shiny Combee or Vespiquen with another trainer.
