The “Memento Mori World Tour” was a testament to Depeche Mode’s enduring power. Over 2 million fans witnessed the band’s electrifying performances across 112 shows in 67 European and 45 North American cities. While the band has yet to announce any future plans, they have expressed a desire to take some time off following the tour. “We’ll take a break, and then we’ll see if, and when, we feel like continuing. So far, we have always done it, so we’ll see. You never know, but I don’t say that in any negative way,” Gore said in an interview with NME.
A Tribute to Fletcher
Throughout the tour, Depeche Mode paid homage to Fletcher’s memory. During a performance of “World In My Eyes” in Montreal, Gore and Gahan paused to project an image of Fletcher on the screen, drawing a thunderous ovation from the crowd.
