Music, Dance Set for Gaelic Park’s Irish Fest
Oak Forest, Ill – Chicago Gaelic Park (CGP), 6119 W. 147th St., in Oak Forest will host Irish Fest 2024 on Friday to Sunday, Aug. 23 to 25.
Musical Performances Take Center Stage
The fest will feature three stages of music and dance, a performing arts stage, a traditional Irish tea tent, wine tent, and more. The music lineup includes first-time CGP Irish Fest performers: Uillean piper/whistle player/composer Conor Mallon from Keady, Co. Armagh; the Co. Donegal-based modern folk group, Onoir; and the German-born, Irish-based multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter, Sina Theil. The Byrne Brothers, a multi-award-winning family band from Co. Donegal, have performed at CGP before but will make their festival debut.
Returning Favorites and Local Talent
Irish Fest 2024 will see the return of JigJam, the renowned bluegrass and Americana quartet from Co. Offaly, as well as Gaelic Brew, a Cork-based Irish trad-rock band. Local musicians The Larkin and Moran Brothers, Liam Durkin and The Dirty Wellies will also perform Irish favorites.
Variety for All Tastes
The inclusion of the rock cover band 4Cast and three tribute bands—One of These Nights (a tribute to the Eagles and their solo work), Dancing Queen: an ABBA Salute, and An Irish Heartbeat: A Musical Tribute to Van Morrison—will be sure to please a wide range of musical tastes.
Traditional Entertainment
The Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald Society as well as The Shannon Rovers will also perform at Irish Fest 2024.
Ticket Information
Tickets are on sale now. Prices are $15 for one-day, $27 for two-day and $36 for three-day tickets. Children under 12 are free admission when accompanied by adult with paid ticket.
