Dragon’s Dogma 2 – How To Romance Wilhelmina

In the vast and thrilling world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner, there lies a heart-pounding quest that will test your skills and perhaps lead to an unexpected romance. For those daring adventurers looking to add a sprinkle of love to their epic journey, this guide dives into how you can romance Wilhelmina, a character whose story of vengeance and affection is as compelling as any tale of dragons and destiny. Be forewarned, this path is not for the faint of heart and contains minor spoilers.

Initiating the Path to Romance

Unlike other characters in Dragon’s Dogma 2, whose affections can be won over with gifts, Wilhelmina requires a more nuanced approach. This involves completing her personal quest, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”. Although the exact trigger for this quest is shrouded in mystery, here’s a recount of the steps we followed in our own journey:

  • Complete main objectives in Vernworth, including quests like “An Unsettling Encounter”, “The Caged Magister”, “Nameless Village”, and “Stolen Throne”.
  • During “The Stolen Throne”, bypass the masquerade ball by walking past the palace gates at night, which leads to a surprise encounter with Wilhelmina.
  • Share a kiss to avoid guard suspicion and receive a card granting access to the Rose Chateau Borderlie.
  • After completing “Stolen Throne” and the related objectives with the False Sovran, interact with Wilhelmina and present her with a Bunch of Flowers.

Searching for Wilhelmina

The opportunity to further romance Wilhelmina may not arise immediately after “Stolen Throne”. In our experience, we returned to Vernworth later and headed to the Rose Chateau Borderlie. Here you’ll find Wilhelmina dealing with a client. Upon entering her bedroom and observing through a peephole, you’ll witness a confrontation with Minister Allard, which she handles deftly.

Finding Evidence

Wilhelmina’s quest for revenge against Allard is the next critical step. Here’s how to proceed:

  • Locate the evidence of Allard’s misdeeds in a second-floor room of Allard’s Estate, adjacent to the Borderlie.
  • Avoid detection by guards or causing an altercation, which may involve temporarily parting ways with your pawns or utilizing the Thief vocation’s Shadow Veil ability.
  • Retrieve the Murder Report from Allard’s room and return it to Wilhelmina.

The challenge lies in acquiring the evidence without raising an alarm or engaging in a fight that could lead to your imprisonment.

Completing the Revenge Plot

With evidence in hand, you must return to Wilhelmina and offer your aid once more. She then enacts the final stage of her revenge against Allard, with your assistance proving crucial. Once justice is served, make your escape and prepare for a moment of passion.

The Wilhelmina Romance Scene

After aiding Wilhelmina in her quest for vengeance, a day’s wait followed by a return to her chamber in the Borderlie leads to a tender moment between her and the Arisen. This intimate scene serves as the culmination of the “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” quest and your romantic involvement with Wilhelmina.

For your efforts, you’ll be rewarded with experience, gold, and the Ring of Benevolence, a token which slowly recovers HP after taking significant damage. This quest not only offers a personal narrative of revenge and redemption but adds depth to the already rich tapestry of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Embark on this quest for a chance at revenge, romance, and a unique bond with Wilhelmina.

As your journey in Dragon’s Dogma 2 continues, remember that fierce foes and loyal companions await, ready to forge new tales of adventure.
